In the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, warm greetings to everyone. It is with deep joy and gratitude that I share my experience from the National Office’s Girls Empowerment National Seminar, held in Kolkata from 23-26 February 2026. The theme, “Be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded,” became a personal message that shaped my entire journey.
Travelling to Kolkata was my first experience visiting another state, and although I had travelled widely within my own territory as the daughter of an officer, stepping into a new place made me reflect deeply. Yet from the moment I arrived, God’s presence gave me courage and peace.
A Spirit-Filled Beginning
The seminar opened under the leadership of Commissioners John Kumar Dasari and Mani Kumari Dasari, International Secretaries for the South Asia Zone. Along with twenty-two other representatives from across India, I felt honoured to be part of this national gathering.
Commissioner John Kumar Dasari shared God’s Word from Joel 2:28–30, reminding us of God’s promise to pour out His Spirit on all people. Commissioner Mani Kumari Dasari delivered a powerful keynote address on “Young Girls: Being the Light of the World.” We were also blessed by the encouraging words of Colonel (Dr.) Andrews D. Christian, National Executive Officer, and Colonel Sunita A. Christian, National Secretary for Women’s Development.
“In that sacred moment, I made a personal commitment to God—to pray more earnestly for young girls and to take intentional steps to guide them toward Christ.”
— Miss Sharon Blessey S.Learning, Sharing, and Growing Together
Across four enriching days, officers from the National Office led well-structured and engaging sessions. The workshops were interactive and thought-provoking, allowing each participant to contribute. I was grateful for the opportunity to share my own thoughts and vision for empowering young girls in my territory.
Morning and evening prayer sessions framed each day, and throughout the seminar I felt God’s presence guiding me. Although most participants were officers, they warmly welcomed the three of us who were soldiers, making us feel valued and included.
A Moment That Transformed My Heart
The final day became the most impactful moment of the entire seminar. Under the guidance of Colonel Sunita Christian, we entered into a heartfelt prayer chain for young girls who are suffering or trapped in the sins and struggles of this world. As we prayed in our native languages, hand in hand, I was moved to tears. I realised that although I prayed for young girls regularly, God was calling me to intercede for them with even greater compassion and urgency.
A Renewed Purpose
As I returned home, my heart was filled with renewed purpose. I felt God calling me to put into action everything I had learned—to uplift, encourage, and empower young girls in my territory. They are precious to God, and I am determined to support them physically, mentally, and above all, spiritually.
This seminar was not just an event; it was a turning point in my spiritual journey. I praise God for His guidance and for the opportunity to be part of a movement that seeks to raise strong, faith-filled young women who will shine His light in the world.
