
A Divisional Level Seminar on Suicide Prevention Awareness was held on January 20, 2026, at the Central Corps in the Palayamkottai Division, focusing on the theme “Creating Hope through Action.” The seminar aimed to educate participants on recognising warning signs, promoting mental well-being, and encouraging timely intervention. A total of 63 women delegates from 15 Corps and 10 women officers benefited from this event. Bookmarks featuring the Territory's theme were provided to all delegates.
Commissioner Lalhlimpuii, TPWM, was the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of early detection of warning signs such as withdrawal, hopelessness, and drastic behavioural changes. Morning Devotion was led by Major M. Indra Rani, DDWM, who based her message on Psalm 43, focusing on "What God does for you when darkness persists in your life?"
The highlights of the seminar included: Stress Management by Major M. Kavitha, DLOMS Mental Health Issues by Major M. Indra Rani, DDWM Suicide Prevention by Commissioner Lalhlimpuii, TPWM A skit demonstrating “how young people go astray and get caught in traps,” performed by women officers from the Palayam Division.
Three delegates shared their feedback, expressing gratitude to the leaders for conducting the seminar at such a crucial time. In the closing session, Commissioner Lalhlimpuii Changthu emphasised that “the mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6).

Overall, the seminar successfully created a safe space for dialogue surrounding mental health and suicide prevention. Participants left with a deeper understanding of the importance of empathy, timely support, and professional intervention. The event concluded with a pledge to continue spreading awareness and supporting those in need.
