Creating Hope Through Action: Landmark Seminar Tackles Suicide Prevention
Delegates and leaders gather at the Central Corps in the Palayamkottai Division to advocate for mental health awareness.
A Divisional Level Seminar on Suicide Prevention Awareness was held on January 20, 2026, at the Central Corps in the Palayamkottai Division, focusing on the theme “Creating Hope through Action.” The seminar aimed to educate participants on recognising warning signs, promoting mental well-being, and encouraging timely intervention. A total of 63 women delegates from 15 Corps and 10 women officers benefited from this event.
"What God does for you when darkness persists in your life?"
Commissioner Lalhlimpuii, TPWM, was the Chief Guest and delivered the keynote address, stressing the importance of early detection of warning signs such as withdrawal, hopelessness, and drastic behavioural changes. Morning Devotion was led by Major M. Indra Rani, DDWM, who based her message on Psalm 43, providing a spiritual foundation for mental health resilience.

Overall, the seminar successfully created a safe space for dialogue surrounding mental health. Three delegates shared feedback, expressing gratitude for the timely nature of the discussions. In the closing session, Commissioner Lalhlimpuii Changthu reminded those gathered that “the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6).
Participants left with a deeper understanding of the importance of empathy and professional intervention, concluding the day with a collective pledge to support those in need across the India South Eastern Territory.
