On Friday 2nd March 2018, at 4:00pm “World Day of Prayer 2018” was celebrated in The Salvation Army Central Corps, Kolkata, West Bengal Division.
The theme of World Day of Prayer for this year was PRAY FOR SURINAME and the topic was “All God's Creation is very Good”. With great enthusiasm all women officers & soldiers came along with their children participated 19 totals in this service.
Captain Anugrah Masih welcomed the members of the Church in this service and Lieut. Colonel Baby Sarojini, Administrator & Chaplain of India National Secretariat did opening prayer and started this special service.
Major Martha Pandey, Divisional & Corps Secretary for World Day of Prayer led this service. All the members brought their assigned materials which were mentioned in the World Day of Prayer book to make this service successful. Major Jashiben D. Khristi, National Editor delivered a meaningful message based upon Psalms 8:1-8, Genesis Chapter 1. All the women participated in book reading, Bible reading, group song and prayer. Special Seven women ware Suriname Beautiful dress, holding tortoise in their hand which shows the symbol of Suriname and did Bible reading.
Then table was decorated with Suriname Flag Colour cloths and also the God's Good Creation such as water, candle, lamp, fruits, animal, flowers, Bible, tortoise etc. At last this meeting was closed by Major Nirmla Masih, DDWM with prayer and benediction.
